Notes:
Never happy with the performance of the SMRs on the original Gorshkov, the
ESU had begun to relegate them to the reserve fleet. However, with the
start of the Xeno War, the ESU has begun to modify them and refit them and to
raise them to active duty. It was decided to provide a number of refits to
the Gorshkov, rather than one standard refit, to keep the enemy guessing about
which version they faced.
The 'B' variation removes both of the SMRs and replaces them with a second
Class-3 beam and two additional PDS. The original Class-3 beam is off-set in
arc to the new Class-3 beam to provide greater coverage. This variant reduces
the reliance on expendables and uses 'off-the-shelf' technology for a quick
refit.
