Notes:
In tandem with the design of the Napoli Class BDN it was
decided an escort cruiser capable of escort duties was needed. The
design criteria was a ship that could defend from fighters and
missiles when escorting capital ships but still had enough punch to
be affective when escorting merchant ships. One oddity is the
SMRs both fire down the port side, this gives greater coverage
because a simple roll covers what was the starboard side.
