The prototype battledreadnought, this Avalon carried two fighters.
Unable to contribute sufficiently to the firepower of the battleline, and
with insufficient fighters to tip the balance, commanders lost confidence in
the design and re-orders dried up. The Excalibur programme attempted to
redress the faults by replacing a fighter bay with beam projectors.
